Doing It for Dolly: Why This Cause Matters to Me

On May 8th, I’ll be taking part in Do It For Dolly Day, a national movement inspired by the story of Dolly Everett. This day isn’t just about wearing blue—it’s about standing up, speaking out, and showing kindness in a world where too many young people are still facing bullying and isolation.

For me, supporting Dolly’s Dream is deeply personal. I believe everyone deserves to feel safe, valued, and heard—especially young people navigating school, friendships, and the pressures of growing up. Bullying can leave invisible scars that last far beyond childhood, and no one should have to face that alone.

That’s why I’m fundraising.

I want to play a small part in creating a kinder, more compassionate world—one where conversations about mental health are encouraged, where support is accessible, and where people look out for one another. Dolly’s Dream works to provide education, support services, and resources for families and communities impacted by bullying, and their mission is something I wholeheartedly stand behind.

Taking part in Do It For Dolly Day is my way of turning awareness into action. It’s about more than just a single day—it’s about continuing the message of kindness every day after.
