Do it for Dolly Day 2026

Go Blue to End Bullying

Hey families đź’™

This year I’ve been reflecting a lot on the “why” behind Playgroup. One thing that has been really strong on my heart is supporting families who feel like they’re doing it alone — families who feel overwhelmed, stretched, lonely, or like it’s all just a bit too much.

When I had my son Max, I found it really hard to leave the house. It felt like such a big effort, and I carried a lot of anxiety around his sleep, routines, and all the expectations that can come with having a baby.

Around the time I was pregnant with Sage, Kyra relaunched Playgroup through the church, and I was so excited to get involved. Supporting young children has always been a passion of mine from my years in early childhood education, but this time I felt a new passion growing — to help mums and parents find connection and not feel so alone.

When I had Sage, Playgroup became a safe space for me. Sage was often asleep in the pram or cot, but I had other mums to talk to. I had a place to come, breathe, connect, and feel seen.

This year, I’d love to ignite that same passion in all of us — to help other mums, dads, carers and families know they are not alone.

So with that in mind, I started looking for a fundraiser or cause we could support together. I looked at lots of beautiful baby and children-related organisations, but something really stood out to me about Do It For Dolly Day.

At its heart, Dolly’s Dream is about kindness — and isn’t that what so many of us needed when we first had our babies? Kindness. Encouragement. Support. Someone to notice us and make room for us.

While our little ones may still be too young to fully understand bullying, I believe it is never too early to teach them love, kindness, inclusion and acceptance.

So for our Mother’s Day morning tea, we’re going to Do It For Dolly 💙
